Giant Hanging Lamp

Task: During the design of the Nod maker space in Bucharest, most furniture and decor elements were tasked to be produced in-house by the makers themselves. One such element was a series of spectacular luminaires that were needed in the reception area.

Solution: The design that was produced also addresses two more problems of acoustic amelioration of the former industrial space and striking visual impact. The design of the series is conceived to be able to be produced by CNC milled wood panel, uses a tiny amount of material and is covered in the cheapest sound absorbing material that was already available: anti-static, flame retardant, colorful carpeting. The luminaire was produced in a variety of diametres ranging from 80 cm to 1.60 cm and is currently available for order via email (office@vsarh.ro).
